I feel like we need a dedicated “stolen gear” category under which to start filing stories, because here we go again. This time, the victims are longtime friends of not just ours, but lots of people in the scene: Jersey’s Mercy Union.
Here’s how the band’s frontman Jared Hart explains what happened on the very first day of their first EU/UK tour:
We’ve been in less London for less than 24 hrs and I’m writing the same post I wrote in 2011. We decided to go to Camden to get lunch quick before loading into the first show. We parked across the street in a Morrisson’s supermarket with 24/7 cctv, backed up to a fence, and a wood divider between the cabin and gear. We were gone for about 45 minutes. When we came back someone had removed a piece of the back door and pooped the back door open. They took gear, personal belongings, and merch. If anyone can share this or keep an eye out for any of the thing in these pictures or on this list, it would be greatly appreciated. We’re going to attempt to do these shows the best we can. Thanks in advance.

The band’s first show did take place earlier tonight after the event, and they’re doing their best to piece things together going forward. If you’re interested in kicking in to the GoFundMe page that’s been started on their behalf, you can do so right here.
Mercy Union’s ripper of a debut album, The Quarry, was released late last year.
