Rob Rampy parts ways with D.R.I.

Crossover/hardcore punk legends D.R.I. have announced that they have parted ways with their longtime drummer Rob Rampy, who announced nearly a month ago that he was no longer playing with the band. According to an update on D.R.I.’s Facebook page, the reason Rampy has left the band is because of a serious injury, and Brandon Karns has been filling in for him on drums.

Rampy had been a member of D.R.I. since 1990, appearing on the band’s last two studio albums Definition (1992) and Full Speed Ahead (1995) as well as their 1994 live album, simply titled Live, and the 2001 spilt EP with Raw Power The Dirty Rotten Power EP.

D.R.I. just recently announced that they will enter the studio next month to record a new EP with producer Bill Metoyer.
