James the Boneless

“Pat and I [James] had been doing music together on and off for about 10 years, but during most of those years I had a giant heroin habit which caused the bones in my arms to dissolve from the IV use, and I lost the ability to play guitar for a while. After I quit about 4 years ago, as my arms healed(still no bones though)I realized we could continue making music if I just relearned guitar by playing overhand with one finger like a slide since I had very little dexterity in my left fretting hand/wrist. That’s when we formed James The Boneless late 2020 and began recording and playing our first gigs in 2021. We had a different drummer for a few months, but had to kick him out due to his own substance abuse and erratic behavior, but luckily in a pinch we met our current drummer Lobo who filled in at a 2021 Subterranean show and has been with us ever since. Ramon is an old friend of mine, and we knew we needed his saxophone to fill out our sound, and he has blessed us with his skills since the band’s inception.”
