The Weirdos were one of the first bands to make a mark in the budding 70s Hollywood punk scene. Breaking up before they could even cut an album (in classic punk rock fashion) the Weirdos nevertheless helped cement the raw, artsy and experimental sound of first wave LA punk alongside contemporaries like the Screamers, the Zeros, and X, playing at storied venues like the Masque, the Whisky, and Club 88. They regrouped in 1986 and have remained semi-active ever since. The band has listed the Ramones, the New York Dolls, and Iggy & The Stooges as fundamental musical inspirations.
