Mobina Galore Bio:
Punk-alt-pop duo, Mobina Galore, formed in late 2010 by Jenna Priestner (guitar/vocals) and Marcia Hanson (drums/vocals) and are based out of Winnipeg, MB, Canada. They embarked on their first Canadian tour in 2011 with only a dozen original tunes in hand. The success of the tour lead them to Vancouver, BC to record a self-produced 5-song EP Skeletons in 2012 that showcased more of a garage rock sound. The album charted numerous times across Canada on College Radio Stations, reaching #1 in Kingston ON and Kamloops BC.
In 2013 Mobina Galore were finalist in Manitoba Songfest with their track “Hear Me Out” and again showcased at NXNE coinciding with another Canadian Tour from Vancouver BC to Ottawa ON. Most importantly they began production on their upcoming album Cities Away (independently released Dec 9, 2014). In anticipation of their album release, Mobina Galore spent 2014 on the road, including three tours out West and a month long tour in Ontario and Quebec with showcases at Big Fun Festival (Winnipeg, MB), Juno Fest (Winnipeg, MB), Canadian Music Week (Toronto, ON), Pouzza Fest (Montreal, QC) and Golden Sound Festival (Golden, BC).
The album is pure, emotional, punk rock written and played with love and an abundance of high energy. The debut single “Bad Love Song” off Cities Away, produced by John Paul Peters (Propagandhi, Royal Canoe) has tackled the charts reaching #6 in high rotation on CBC Radio 3 as well as college radio across Canada, being named one of the top 15 punk bands in Canada of 2015 by CBC Radio 3.
