DS Exclusive: Thirsty Guys premiere new single, “Bad Chemistry”

Thirsty Guys are a brilliant young ska/punk band from New Brunswick, New Jersey featuring members The Best of The Worst, and Hub City Stompers. They’ve got a new album on the way which promises to take you “on a wild ride through the mind of vocalist / keyboard player Joe Scala, as he belts out 10 tracks about quarter life crises, scene drama, depression, and other fun topics not usually synonymous with our favorite Hawaiian shirt stained genre. The songs sway back and forth between the dance-able ska that you’d no doubt be sweating to in a New Brunswick basement, and speedy punk with traces of technical hardcore… a small tip-off that you’re listening to the same guys who’ve been pushing the boundaries of ska-core for over a decade.”

Parched hits digital shelves with vinyl ready to ship on or around August 16 courtesy of Bad Time Records, (featuring “coke bottle green”, and “oxblood in milky white” variants) as well as Choke Artist Records. (Featuring red with black splatter) Pre-orders are available here, and on Thirsty Guys Bandcamp page.

Dying Scene is happy to give these guys (and gal: guest vocalist Liz Fackleman) the premiere treatment today with their brand new happy/sad, dance-y personal crisis song “Bad Chemistry”. It’s a “beacon of our wrecklessness”, Scala sings along a surf-y skank rhythm made all-the-better by an adventure-game-esque synth-laden bridge and Fackleman’s contributions. Stream “Bad Chemistry” below.
