My Chemical Romance announces break-up

My Chemical Romance announced via their website Friday night that they’ve decided to call it quits after 12 years as a band. Read their entire statement below:

“Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We’ve gotten to go places we never knew we would. We’ve been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We’ve shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure.”

MCR released their first album, “I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love” in 2002 but became more popular following 2004’s “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.” They also released “The Black Parade” in 2006 and “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys” in 2010. They just finished releasing their “Conventional Weapons” series, which consists of ten previously unheard songs released on five 7-inch singles over a five month period.
