Iced Earth's Jon Schaffer sentenced for Jan 6 riots

Jon Schaffer of Iced Earth has been sentenced for taking part in the January 6 riots/insurrection. As you may recall, Schaffer was part of the mob that stormed and broke into the Capitol in support of Trump. Earlier this month, Schaffer was finally sentenced for his part in the insurrection.Schaffer has been sentenced to three years of probation and 120 hours of community service. He will also have to pay $1,000 in restitution and a $200 financial assessment. As per the US Government recommending sentencing memorandum: ""Such a sentence would be sufficient to reflect the seriousness of this offense while also accounting for the three months defendant was detained following his arrest, the defendant's early acceptance of responsibility, and the substantial assistance he has provided to law enforcement pursuant to his cooperation plea agreement." Montreal-based aggro metal band Chuzo have announced that they will be releasing a new EP. It is called M.T.M.D (Maximum Threshold, Minimum Decay) and will be out on November 15. Subterranean Dissonance Fest has announced its lineup for 2025. Thou (performing Umbilical), Secret Chiefs 3, Krallice, Deadguy, Young Widows, Agriculture, Pyrrhon (performing Exhaust), Dysrhythmia, Silverthree Records, Scarcity, Idle Hands, Malevich, Underer, and Zombieshark! will be playing the festival. Subterranean Dissonance Fest will take place at Underground Arts in Philadelphia, PA on February 7-8, 2025.

Bonnie Trash release video for Nick Cave cover

Bonnie Trash have released a video for their cover of “Red Right Hand” by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. The video was directed by vocalist Sarafina Bortolon-Vettor. Everyone quits As I Lay Dying except Tim Lambesis

About ten years ago, As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was found guilty of crimes related to him trying to hire a hitman to kill is wife, at the time. The "hitman" was a gym trainer who Lambesis approached about the killing, who then went to the police. Lambesis was sentenced to six years in jail, but only served about 30 months. Lambesis resurrected the group about six years ago, but things have become rocky. The band had a November/December tour planned. But, two weeks ago, bassist Ryan Neff quit the group without much explanation. Shortly thereafter, tour manager Alex Kendrick, guitarist and former Unearth member Ken Susi, and drummer Nick Pierce all quit the band. After that, all opening bands on the trek stated that the tour had been canceled… except As I Lay Dying who did not confirm that the tour was canceled. rather, they have issued the following statement: "we are still sorting through details of what is going on within AILD and will have more details for you soon." We'll keep you updated.
