Taking Back Sunday confirms lineup change, working on new album

taking-back-sunday-march-30-2010Taking Back Sunday guitarist Eddie Reyes spoke to WRCN Radio to give an update on the band. Matt Fazzi (guitar) and Matt Rubano (bass) have confirmed their departure from TBS through the band’s website. The website now features a picture of the Tell All Your Friends lineup, with the members’ eyes crossed out (see photo at left). This could be an indication that this lineup has reformed but Reyes did not confirm any specific changes in the interview. He said that he had been asked not to discuss specific changes and that everything would be public next week.

The lineup pictured would put John Nolan and Shaun Cooper back in TBS on guitar and bass, respectively. Nolan and Cooper left the band in 2003 to form Straylight Run – which interestingly, announced an indefinite hiatus last month. Coincidence?

Reyes mentioned that they band is working on writing and recording a new album, but they’re still in the initial stages. He said that they hope to be playing shows during the summer. The interview also discusses TBS’s emergence from Long Island’s late-90’s hardcore scene and how they scored a deal with Warner Brothers – hard work.
