The Offspring re-recording a song from “Ignition”

Something interesting is going on in The Offspring camp. The band recently announced that they are re-recording at least one song from their 1992 masterpiece Ignition (see cover on the left). They didn’t mention which song, but they said it’s going to appear on their new record. Frontman Dexter Holland tweeted:

“We’re redoing one of our really old songs for this record..guess which one.”

The Offspring announced nearly a week ago that they have been busy finishing their new album. No further more details regarding the album (name, track list, album art, release date, etc.) have been revealed, but stay tuned for more updates. The follow-up to 2008′s Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace is expected to drop sometime this year.

In order to promote their new record, The Offspring will be playing this year’s edition of the German festivals Rock am Park and Rock am Ring Festivals and have a European tour in the works. Prior to that, they will headline the PunkSpring Festival in Japan, on March 31, 2012 in Tokyo and on April 1, 2012, in Osaka, with Sum 41New Found GlorySuicidal Tendencies and All Time Low.
