When we chatted with Lucero frontman Ben Nichols earlier this year, he gave us a brief peak at plans for an upcoming solo record that was going to feature a backing band that consisted of Cory Branan, Todd Beene and Morgan Eve Swain. Now, we finally get to hear what they were cooking up in that Memphis studio with esteemed producer Matt Ross-Spang.
Entitled In The Heart Of The Mountain, the album marks Nichols’ first solo release since his Blood Meridian-inspired Last Pale Light In The West back in 2009. The album is due out July 25th – pre-orders are available now – and Nichols and friends will head out on the road to support the release. Check out the video for In The Heart Of The Mountain’s lead single, “Fading Back Into The Night,” down below, and keep scrolling to see where you can catch the solo tour on the road!
