Fights – “Scampirock”

Dying Scene Band Spotlight alumni, Oslo, Norway’s Fights put their signature “boogiecore” (that’s hardcore punk mixed with boogie rock) sound on full display with their debut album Scampirock. High octane guitars drowned in fuzzy overdrive, vocals shouted full throat, big guitar solos, and just the right amount of weird experimental shit: this album has it all. Also noteworthy is the production, which is excellent, but manages not to take away from the band’s raw energy in the slightest. Needless to say, this is highly recommended listening.
