Craig Stanton has been perhaps best known for being one-half of the songwriting duo behind Boston punk band Rebuilder for the last decade. The band has stayed busy releasing a handful of albums and playing myriad shows alongside peers like Choke Up and Ramona and Dead Bars and No Trigger and opening runs for the likes of Dropkick Murphys and Frank Turner and Streetlight Manifesto.
But the tail end of 2025 marks something a little different for Stanton. His new project, CG Stanton & The Powerful Stuff, finds his songwriting prowess at the front and center. It’s less of the traditional melody-infused punk of his day job and more heartland rock-infused alt-country. The album will be released on all digital platforms on October 8th – but we’ve heard from a little bird that if you order the vinyl version it may hit the US Postal Service earlier. Get on those pre-orders while they’re still available, and check out a couple of the videos from the release below, like the ode to his Rebuilder brothers “Nobody In Boston,” and the ode to his late father “While I’m Still Here.” Oh, and if the photography on the album cover looks familiar, it’s because it was shot by longtime DS friend and collaborator Brittany Queen!
