Youth Avoiders, the French melodic hardcore band, is back with a new album titled Defiance, released on January 7th, 2026 with Destructure Records.
Ten songs totaling twenty minutes of music; the album is fast, tight, and its ability to contrast a tidy recording while still evoking raw energy is more than refreshing. Its quick tempos are panic inducing and pair beautifully with melodic vocals delivered with seething intensity. I haven’t been quite this excited about new music in a while, I highly recommend checking this one out.
Eight years have passed since Youth Avoiders released their second album, Relentless, attributing the wait to setbacks dating as far back as the global pandemic.
The album Defiance is described by the band as “a collection of observations on the social injustices at the core of today’s society. A set of anthems calling for resistance, urging listeners to stand up, fight back, defend the oppressed, and reclaim power.”
