Sum 41 in the studio recording new music

According to a recent post on the band’s Facebook page, Deryck Whibley and the rest of Sum 41 are currently in the studio working on new music. Whibley posted a few pictures and the following message on the page earlier this morning:

“Getting ready to record some drums. New ideas! Stay tuned for more updates and photos. Gotta get to bed now. It’s 530am and we start recording in 6 hours.

-Deryck Whibley”

We’ll keep you posted as more details on new Sum 41 music come to light. In case you’ve been out of the loop for the past few months, Deryck was hospitalized back in March after nearly drinking himself to death – luckily, as you can tell, he is recovering very quickly.

I’m gonna be honest here & you can say what you want about it. The only Sum 41 album I’ve ever truly liked was Underclass Hero. Before & After Underclass, I never truly cared for what the band was doing. With that said, I’m really glad they’re making new music! Not only is it good for their frontman, but also for the band as a whole. All I want for these guys (& for any band really) is to be happy and healthy while doing something that they love. High hopes for a comeback!

Would anyone have thought that someone would nearly drink themselves to death over Avril Levigne?
