Tampa, Florida based Loud Fast and Shitty Radio Show recently spoke with Bouncing Souls drummer Michael McDermott before their sold out performance with NOFX, Old Man Markley, Cobra Skulls and Nobody’s Hero at the House of Blues in Orlando.
Among the topics discussed was their scheduled “Home For The Holidays” show that was postponed recently. The annual event this year was not only sold out, but snowed out. When a worldwide population of disappointed Bouncing Souls fans blanketed New Jersey’s hotels with nothing to do, singer Greg Attonito pleased the crowd with an impromptu acoustic set, in a hotel ballroom.
The four day series of Bouncing Souls shows chronicle their history of full length recordings, two albums a night, spanning their career. It has been rescheduled to February 9-12, 2011 in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The success of the yearly HFTH event has prompted The Bouncing Souls to plan an 8-10 city coast-to-coast tour of similar nature, with planned stops including New York, Philadelphia, Denver and Los Angeles among others.
McDermott also talks about being immortalized on the NOFX live recording of The Longest Line…and declares that if there is ANY cocaine backstage at a Bouncing Souls show, then Fat Mike surely brought it himself.
After being interrupted and distracted by a fan without tickets, McDermott stresses the importance of having your tickets purchased before embarking out to the venue.
Also discussed was the decision to leave Epitaph in favor of doing their own thing, as well as their preferred format of music distribution.
