Cancer Bats going on tour as Black Sabbath cover band alter ego “Bat Sabbath”

This seems a little strange.  Canadian hardcore act Cancer Bats have announced that they will be playing a series of Canadian dates in December, but the name they’re putting on the bill is “Bat Sabbath.” At the Sonisphere Festival a couple of months ago the band did the same thing, playing an entire set of Black Sabbath songs, so it’s likely they’ll be doing the same for this run of December dates.  Awesome if you’re a Black Sabbath fan, maybe not so awesome if you’re hoping to hear Cancer Bat songs.

You can watch the band’s performance of “Iron Man” at Sonishphere right here (two minute mark).

The band re-released their latest album “Bears, Mayors, Scraps and Bones” with exclusive bonus content last October 25th.
