Deaf Havana frontman Ryan Mellor leaves the band

deaf-havana-meet-me-halfway-at-leastUK post-hardcore band Deaf Havana has announced the departure of vocalist Ryan Mellor. The band has cited escalating circumstances within Mellor’s family as the reason for this, in an announcement released earlier today. Mellor was unable to participate in the band’s recent tour with Emery for the same unspecified reasons.

The band is very supportive of Mellor in what is surely a difficult time for him. They are not seeking a replacement, intending to continue as a four-piece. Guitarist and vocalist James Veck-Goldi will presumably take over primary vocal duties, as he previously filled that role before Mellor.

The band is currently in the studio, working on a new full-length album. Their last release, 2009’s Meet Me Halfway, At Least, was released on A Wolf At Your Door Records. They have stated that they intend to continue performing their older material – and they’ll be on tour later this month throughout the UK. Get the details at Dying Scene shows.
