The video is for a middle-track on the LP, “Bottle Rocket”, which according to lead singer, Pat Kennedy, is one that didn’t exactly fall into his lap. “This song took on a few different forms during the writing process, and finally came together in the studio with some help from our [Grammy-nominated] producer Will Yip. I’m glad we stuck with it because it has become one of our favorites on the album.”
Light Years is closing in on their decennial celebration, and over the years their diligence has paid off. Gigging constantly and working closely with industry masters to engineer a sound culpable to their 10,000+ fans and followers, the band has graced Warped Tour stages, toured with the likes of Mixtapes, State Champs, Knuckle Puck, and Four Year Strong, and crossed oceans to impart their music on another continent. Not too shabby for this Midwest quartet.
“Afterlife is where Light Years has been heading for the past 8 years. We spent more time on this record than anything we have done before and I think it shows. We tried new sounds and ideas that before we would have never thought to do, or been willing to try, which I think only comes from the maturity you get from being in a band for so many years. We hope people like this record as much as we do, but if they don’t, we really don’t care.”
