Facedown Records signs A Hope For Home

facedownFacedown Records has signed Portland, Oregon post-hardcore outfit, A Hope For Home.  According to the press release, the band is heading into the studio this January to record their Facedown Records debut, which they plan to release this coming Spring.  Intrigued?  If so, you can check out a new pre-production song titled “Post Tenebras Lux” on A Hope For Home’s MySpace page.  Here’s what the band had to say about the upcoming album:

The album will be a vast concept about the search for meaning in a seemingly meaningless world, a problem I think everyone faces regardless of their beliefs. Frederick Nietzsche famously declared that “God is dead…and we have killed him.” Prominent scholars and thinkers tell us we must reject religious belief due to a moral basis. The philosophical debate goes on but we are left in the middle to try and find a meaning- What if God is not real? Does my life have no purpose? Does anything matter? We will be deconstructing this notion from the perspective of a man who finds himself in this world with no meaning, as he tries to reconstruct his understanding of reality. We want to touch on these doubts and fears that are felt by everyone from the most doubtful to the most fervent. It is not our goal to make a value judgment or to point fingers, but to more fully understand the human condition all of us are placed into.
