The legendary punk-funk band Fishbone have recently posted details surrounding the upcoming film documentary about the band. After a relatively lengthy break, Fishbone released “Crazy Glue” in October, five years since their last release, “Still Stuck In Your Throat”. It seems like the band is gearing up to make a revival, and today we have for you the trailer for this upcoming documentary.
In the film, “lead singer Angelo Moore and bassist Norwood Fisher who show how they keep the band rolling out of pride, desperation and love for their art. To overcome money woes, family strife, and the strain of being aging Punk rockers on the road, Norwood and Angelo are challenged to re-invent themselves in the face of dysfunction and ghosts from a painful past.
Featuring interviews with Flea, Gwen Stefani, Ice-T, Perry Farrell, Branford Marsalis, George Clinton, Tim Robbins, Gogol Bordello, ?uestlove, and others, “Everyday Sunshine” the band’s history, influence, and struggle as individualistic, genre-blending artists up against an unforgiving music industry that threatens to pass them by.” —excerpt from “fishbonedocumentary.com/thefilm.html”

“Everyday Sunshine” is narrated by Laurence Fishburne and was directed by Lev Anderson & Chris Metzler. The film is currently being screened at selected locations around the country. You can view the list of screenings here, and maybe even have a chance to attend a Q & A session with the band and filmmakers.
A special 25th anniversary DVD is set to be released on February 7, 2012 through the documentary’s website, and “soon after it will be available through a wider release to retail outlets.”
