If you’re old enough to remember the 2004 presidential election in the US, you probably remember Fat Mike’s PunkVoter project. The NOFX frontman was front-and-center in the push to get young people to vote in the hopes of making George W. Bush a one-term President.
PunkVoter and the accompanying “Rock Against Bush” soundtracks did succeed in its goal of getting more young people to the polls. Unfortunately, as we all know, “W” was re-elected.
Fat Mike recently set down for an interview with the Canadian edition of the Huffington Post to discuss the PunkVoter project, and why he’s no longer taking the role of political activist. Click here to check it out.
