Last December Man Overboard announced plans to work on a new full-length album. Well now more details about the upcoming full-length have been revealed. The band will hit the studio on June 5th to start the recording process. The album will be produced by Steve Klein, New Found Glory’s Rhythm guitarist primary lyricist. Jesse Cannon, Man Overboard’s producer and manager, will be co-producing the upcoming release. Here’s what the band had to say,
“Since we got home from the PMA Tour with Senses Fail we have been keeping it pretty quiet (for us), apart from our appearance at Bamboozle and the release of our new compilation The Human Highligh”t Reel on Tuesday. In this time we have been held up in Nik’s Small Hill Recording Studio demoing for our new LP that will be out this fall on Rise Records. Right now we have 17 demos and counting that we will narrow down before we start recording in early June. With all of that said, we are happy to announce that this album will be co-produced by Steve Klein and Jesse Cannon. Steve writes, records and tours in New Found Glory and Jesse has produced all of our previous material as well as countless other groups. Both of these guys bring different things to the production table and we could not be more excited to have them both in the control room telling us how we suck and make the songs the best they can. We will start tracking this album in early June and finish up right before we head to Europe with Polar Bear Club. The album will see a September release Rise Records. Stay tuned to DefendPopPunk.com and our blog to see tons of updates as we move forward.”
The band latest release “The Human Highlight Reel” was released earlier this month via Rise Records.
