Pop-punk mid-westerners Mixtapes and Direct Hit! will be releasing a four-song split disc which will feature from each band a new, original track as well as a cover of that same track by the other band. Here’s the tracklist:
Side A (Direct Hit!)
1. Werewolf Shame
2. I Was A Teenage Poltergeist (Mixtapes cover)
Side B (Mixtapes)
1. I Was A Teenage Poltergeist
2. Werewolf Shame (Direct Hit! cover)
Due for a 26 October release on Kind Of Like Records, the disc has adopted a Halloween/horror theme not only through the track titles but by the album art/packaging as well. Josh Davis of Dead Meat Design designed the artwork and drew inspiration from MAD Magazine fold-ins (photos here).
Mixtapes self-released their free LP, Maps, earlier this year and Direct Hit! have yet to release an LP, but a bunch of free music can be found on their bandcamp.
