New songs from Joey Cape: “Linoleum” (NOFX) cover and a song from upcoming split with Tony Sly

joey-cape1Now we’re talking!  Joey Cape (lead singer of Lagwagon) just posted two new songs to his solo MySpace page.  The first is an acoustic cover of The Contortionist, which was originally recorded as a Lagwagon song on their most recent full-length release Resolve.  It looks like the acoustic version will appear on a split 7″ with Tony Sly of No Use For A Name – no word on a release date.

The second song is a “Bad Astronaut version” of Linoleum, which was originally recorded and made famous in the punk scene as the opening track to NOFX’s landmark album Punk In Drublic.

Joey is currently working on a full-length solo album which he will be releasing on his own record label start-up, The Crank Lab.
