Whatever you wanna call these guys (and lady) they’ve put together a righteous little indie tune that goes well with bands like The Menzingers, and Hard Girls.

Panhandler is gearing up to release their first full-length, Wherever That Is, on Trash Crusader Records (Europe) and Whisk and Key Records, (Australia) on December 8, 2018, following-up their 2016 EP, There Goes the Neighborhood. The band is fresh off a tour of The Outback, and promises the title-track to be “a painfully bittersweet, nostalgic tribute to past friends,” reminding us that, “no matter what separates you, the times you had will never go away.

Pre-orders for the album are available at Whisk and Key, and you can stream “Wherever That Is” below.

When I heard that my favorite Italian hardcore band, NOFU, was putting out new music, I jumped at the opportunity for an exclusive. I hopped on messenger and started up a chat and before you know it, I was beneficiary and custodian to exclusive content beholden to no one but myself. (and maybe a few of the band’s buds and whatnot) The weight of badassery fell squalidly on my shoulders, alone. Holy crap! What was I gonna’ write?

I first got the chance to see NOFU last year on their Thrashin’ the Bible Belt Tour, at my favorite local punk dive, and was absolutely blown away. The lead singer, Emanuele, was like seven feet, goddamn tall and radiating rock and roll eminence in cut-off jean shorts and high-kick glory. He had a voice like napalm and a smile like Jesus. Claudio, on guitar, was thrashing around in a performance reminiscent of Captain Sensible, but along with Bitto and Curzio (on bass and drums) terrorizing the place, these guys were playing the loud, fast shit.

The pit was ferocious (due props to my beloved hometown scene) and, needless to say, I gladly coughed up the measly 20 bucks for the vinyl, Interruzione, which has sense seen innumerous spins on my dusty, old table. I love this band. They are legitimately super badass. With influences ranging from Motörhead and Venom, Accused, Suicidal Tendencies, and Italian bands like Frammenti, Kina, and Stinky Rats to more post-hardcore influences like Crimpshrine and Hüsker Dü (who have a big influence on this new album, Qui Ed Ora) – the band knows their history, and, I think, could become a big part of it, if you let them.

NOFU is headed back on the road, embarking on a West Coast (U.S.) tour this month, with 14 stops from Tijuana to Washington, including one sold out show with The Cro-Mags and EYEHATEGOD. Qui Ed Ora won’t officially release until this February, however CD’s and cassettes are being made available for the tour via Carr’Amato Records and Reality is a Cult Records. Tapes and CD’s will be done FOR THIS TOUR ONLY!! So, if you’re lucky enough to catch these guys in the act, be sure and scoop one up. (or maybe two, so you can mail me a copy.) The February release will be on 7″ vinyl, however the band is still reaching out to labels. So, if you know a guy who knows a guy… cough, cough.

Qui Ed Ora is unbelievable. It’s a pleasant 4-track surprise that highlights the bands maturity, growth and dynamism as they depart from their hardcore/metal roots to touch on a transcendental time and element in punk rock music. Stream that EP and check out NOFU’s tour dates below.

“What we are, it has always been a postponement, omitted, of everything we do not have. Never could. Just beyond the fears. Just beyond the uncertainties. Just beyond the insecurities. Just beyond. The goal, the place, we are looking for. We aspire to. It’s so close, but we do not see it. What we call the path. The path, it is only the name of fear, of hesitation. Here and now, quotes of what we would like here and now, broken phrases. Silences. Redeemed and fragile.” (Lyrics to “Qui Ed Ora” from translation)
