Two years after their last full length I Wanted This To Go Different was released, this brooklyn punk quintet is back with another brand new LP, due out on August 4th via FTLP Records. Heck is a twelve track tour de fierce, which maintains the act’s raw, authenticated brand of punk rock. From the few tracks that we’ve heard, it very well could wind up on a few DS Top 10 Albums of The Year lists. Old school sound with a dash of new school flare that appeals to a large population of punks. Get on over to Bandcamp and pre order this one, kiddies (and you can also stream the incredible debut single Never Meant to Get This Old). The lads will be playing a bunch of shows in support of the album so head over to their Facebook page to see if they’re coming to your ‘hood! ! Until then, we’re supremely happy to present you with the exclusive premiere of “Street Sharks”. Stream this awesome, minute and twenty ripper, below!

Sorry, but I’ll take any excuse to use the word “supple.”

We recently covered Bat$hi!crazy’s new EP, and now they’ve released a video for the song “Bats In the Belfry.”

Chuck from the band describes the project as “Pop Punk Hardcore Horror Rock N’ Roll.” Pretty much on the nose.

The video is footage from an old timey horror movie about, wait for it,

bats.

Judging by the look of it, I can only guess that the woman in it was referred to as “dame” an awful lot. Check it out below!

Supple.

Full disclosure: I pre-ordered VVomen’s debut EP immediately after listening to the three songs they have up on bandcamp. I’m having a hard time pinpointing this band’s exact sound, which is a good thing. Yeah, I said early At the Drive-In and HWM, but there’s something else in there I can’t quite put my finger on. Maybe some Gunmoll? Definitely some light Jawbreaker. I don’t know, and it’s going to drive me nuts.

But really, that doesn’t matter, because this band sounds great. There’s speak/shouting and singing, plenty of melody, and when I think things are mellowing out, they push me down and kick me in the head.

The EP will be released on Friday, July 21st. You can check out the Northern California four-piece’s preview of “Moving On” at bandcamp, and a video for “Cadence and Carousel” below.  [Read more…]
