Pennywise to release new album early next year?

Pennywise‘s new album — arguably one of the most anticipated punk albums of all time — is one step closer to seeing the light of day. At least according to Wikipedia.  The sometimes unreliable website states the band “has been working on a new album to be released in early 2012.” No further details have surfaced, but stay tuned for updates.

Their new album, which has been in the works for almost more than two years, will be their first since 2008’s Reason to Believe and debut with Zoli Teglas as the replacement of original singer Jim Lindberg, who left the band back in 2009 and is now in The Black Pacific. This four-year span between records (2008-2012) would mark the longest gap in putting out new material during Pennywise’s career. The band’s first eight studio albums were released two years apart, while Reason to Believe took three years to surface.
