Minnesota’s Quietdrive announced today that their guitarist, Justin Bonhiver, will be leaving the group to pursue other endeavors. Check out an emotional letter from Justin here. Dying Scene wishes Justin the best of luck in whatever path he chooses moving forward.
Quietdrive last released a covers album, “Your Record Our Spin” last year.
Goodbyes are never easy. And so it is with a heavy heart that we deliver this news. Please take the time to read this note from Justin. We wish him nothing but the best. We couldn’t have asked for a better guitarist, friend and brother. Thank you for all that you have done for us and our collective fan family. Much love.
After 10 amazing, unforgettable years as the guitarist of Quietdrive, I have made the incredibly difficult and bittersweet decision to move forward in a new direction.
What started out as a teenage pipe dream turned into a Major label record deal, a top 40 radio campaign, international touring and multiple album releases.
Life on the road was chaotic and after many months of thought and deliberation, I decided that it’s time for me to go in a different direction if I want to accomplish more of my personal life goals.
Sappy sob stories aside, I’ve had a decade of unbelievable experiences playing music with my best friends for the greatest fans in the world. I will cherish those memories till the day I die.
Now it is time for me to move forward. I may be going back to school, I may be getting more involved in the concert production world, who knows, down the road I may even start or join a new band. In the meantime you can find me running 5k’s around the suburbs of Minneapolis and enjoying some delicious peanut butter sandwiches.
In all seriousness, thank you to Kevin, Kirby, Droo, Brandon, Will & Brice for the memories and your friendship. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the Quietdrive fans for making this surreal experience possible.
I love you all and please keep in touch.
-‐Justin Bonhiver
