Well this is potentially very exciting. Iconic Swedish hardcore punk act Refused just might be putting out a new album in 2015, their first release of new material in 17 years. At least they are according to an instagram post from …And You Will Know Us By Our Really Fucking Long Band Name bassist Autry Fulbright. Accompanied with a pic of Refused vocalist Dennis Lyxzen, he writes:
“in austria tonight for the ahoi pop festival weekend along with st. vincent and this guy’s band invsn which he’s doing between finishing vocals for the new refused album that’s coming out next year”
No official announcement has been made from anybody in the Refused camp confirming this alleged new album but we’ll let you know the moment more details surface.
INVSN is Dennis Lyxzen’s post-punk side project that released and album last year on Razor and Tie Records.
Refused broke up in 1998, shortly after the release of their iconic album The Shape of Punk to Come, but reunited in 2012 to play some shows before apparently parting ways again.
