Samiam posted a brief update to MySpace this week saying they’ll be recording this year:
We’ve booked studio time in the bay area and brooklyn for April/May…Samiam is making a record!
That’s the extent of the news, though, we don’t have any more details. But, of course, once we know something we’ll pass the knowledge along.
The band’s most recent release, Orphan Works came out last year on No Idea Records. It’s a compilation of rarities, outtakes, radio shows, and some live songs from the Clumsy and You Are Freaking Me Out era. The group’s last studio album was 2006′s Whatever’s Got You Down, which was released on Hopeless Records.
Samiam will be playing Krazy Fest in Louisville and The Fest in Florida later this year.
