Sean Mackin of Yellowcard recently stopped by Dan “Soupy” Campbell’s (The Wonder Years) new artist-on-artist YouTube series, Talking with Soup, to discuss what it was like to tour while being diagnosed with thyroid cancer, what he did during his band’s off-period, and addresses the perception of Yellowcard’s success. Here’s a direct quote from Mackin:
“There was a time in our career where Yellowcard was making a lot of money, but it was a very small amount of time – it was about a year and a half, maybe two years. Over 12 years that ends up averaging out. I was relatively smart with my money, I put some away … when we took a hiatus I sold cars for three and a half years, and on average, I made more money per year selling cars than I did in the music business.”
