Hailing from Portsmouth, UK skate punkers Sombulance create dark, melodic punk rock anthems you can skate to, plan the downfall of the state or relax with a fine red wine and contemplate your day. Check out the stream of the title track off of their upcoming LP “Lifer” below.
The band lists Strung Out, Propagandhi and Hot Water Music as influences, and I would be unable to find a better cross references for the sonic presentation these guys put out. It’s complex and aggressive but with a layer of melody that keeps the music from being too heavy or dark.
The band self-released their debut LP A Cynic’s Response in September of 2010.
Here is the stream of “Lifer”, due out August 4th through the UK label Lockjaw Records.
