New York City punk-n-roll band The Dead Tricks have premiered a music video for their new single “Don’t Get High (Without Me)”. The band provided the following statement regarding the shooting of the video and their plans for 2013.
“Directed by Randal Mixon it was shot at The Muff Cave in New York City, a squat/venue that’s the last whiff of classic punk, it smells like cat shit crossed with an armpit. When not housing out-of-town bands and homeless crust punks, it functions as the rehearsal spot for The Bloody Muffs who were cool enough to let us take over for this shoot. We invited our friends down, bought shitty beer and cardboard-flavored pizza. People knocked over equipment, our singer bled (always a good sign), a few folks passed out, but no one fell out the window.
After the gig we took some time off to write, drink, and smoke. We’re emerging from the haze in 2013 with a lot of new material, an upcoming 7” single, and some Elvis ’68-stylee comeback shows. We would like to thank the Bloody Muffs for letting use their spot and our friends who came to the show. The Muff Cave is in danger of shutting down; click here to find out how to support it and keep DIY alive in neutered New York.”
