The Feederz release first new record In 15 years

It has been 15 years since Phoenix, Arizona’s The Feederz have released new tunes, but 2017 has changed that with a 7” release titled What Would Hitler Do? The record is a two-track anti-Trump invective complete with cover art featuring 45 in full nazi regalia.

Phoenix has a rich, if often forgotten, punk-rock past that includes groups like the legendary psych-punk pioneers The Sun City Girls, first American punk band to tour Europe JFA, platinum pop-punkers Jimmy Eat World, local heroes Authority Zero, and current torch-bearers DESTRUCTION UNIT — and The Feederz are a big part of that history.

The Feederz are one of the original Phoenix troublemaking trinity that also includes their label-mates at Slope Records The Exterminators and the now-defunct three-piece The Consumers, and I don’t use the term troublemaking lightly. Feederz frontman Frank Discussion was at one point run clear out of Arizona after distributing 5,000 letters on official Board of Education letterhead stating that “School is boring.”

But now that they are done bad-mouthing the 48th-ranked school system in the country, they are ready to step up and give their two cents on the 45th president of the United States with two incendiary tracks criticising The Donald’s governmental management style.

Side A features the track “Stealing,” an ode to the United States current Commander In Thief, and while the the song certainly takes aim at the orange hairpiece, it is still an indictment of the entire corrupt system as they see it.

Side B is their track “Sabotage,” a fitting name for an anti-Trump tune considering he has admitted his whole presidential angle is to sabotage every part of the government he doesn’t like. The tune plays like a demented version of The Ramones’ hit “Blitzkrieg Bop.”

Joining Discussion on the presidential shit-list is OG Feeder Clear Bob on bass and D.H. Peligro, formerly of The Dead Kennedys and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, on drums. The traumatizing three-piece intend to follow the 7” with a full-length set for a summer 2017 release.
