America in 1963 was still doin’ their own thing..listening to Steve Lawrence, Paul & Paula, The Four Seasons, Chiffons, Bobby Vinton, The Singing Nun. JD Loudermilk was making a mark in Nashville as a songwriter for the Everly Brothers, Johnny Cash and Chet Atkins. He co-wrote this high-water mark of an American Country song with Bob Gibson for singer George Hamilton IV”
