What Brigade (DIY punk…marching band?) announce tour dates (plus free downloads)

What Cheer? Brigade is sort of a fusion of a rag-tag group of DIY folk punks, yet at the same time a rank-and-file marching band (you have to see that image to appreciate the true irony.) They’ve recently announced a long string of summer tour dates; you can check them out right here.

It’s difficult to compair their sound to much of anything; maybe the aftermath of a particularly riotous World/Inferno Friendship Society gig, or perhaps a walking, blasting Streetlight Manifesto plus 15 members or so? Perhaps they’re just the ska band geeks from your high school (If you went to a public school anytime circa 1995-2010 you definitely had at least a few of these) who dusted off their marching band boots and forgot to return their school instruments (Editor’s note: guilty).

The band released their debut album “We Blow, You Suck!” in 2009 via Anchor Brain. Check out some tunes and free downloads here. The band is currently working on recording a backing horn section to the upcoming album by coke-synthpunkers Math The Band, who will join them on select tour dates.
