After four years as a part of the Boston punk and Oi! scene, Rod Rooker moved back to his hometown of Red Deer, Alberta, in 2004 where he and Mike “Rowdy” Rooker started Kroovy Rookers. After a move to Edmonton, a few different bassists, and 18 years, Mikey D Rooker is now the band’s man in charge of the low end. Playing their old-school style of punk inspired by the likes of Motorhead, Templars, and Minor Threat; Kroovy Rookers have had the privilege of sharing the stage with classic punk bands like UK Subs, The Vibrators, and The Business as well as Canadian originators SNFU, DOA, and Nomeansno.
