A Minor Revolution Bio:
A Minor Revolution's sound is derived from years of influence listening to NOFX, Mischief Brew, The Clash, Freddie Hubbard, and Hi-fi and the Road Burners -the five favorite bands of AMR's 5 members; Ryan, Zack, AJ, Matt, and Luthor. A house party of genres including punk, reggae, hip-hop, and good old fashioned rock n roll are what drive the band and are very apparent in both our debut album "AMRica" and the upcoming unreleased "Consexual Sense".
After 4 years of playing house shows, small clubs and local bars around New England with the occasional east coast one night stand, we have made many friends, picked up great contacts in the local, regional, and national scenes, and have since started to focus on our own personal bigger picture.
AMR's emergence into markets outside of our home turf kicked off in June of 2013 with our first official tour. The “Avoid Pennsylvania at All Costs Tour” brought us through 9 shows in 7 states with the crazy Brit-Punks Not Since The Accident who tagged along for their U.S. debut. During this time we were psyched to learn the ins and outs of touring D.I.Y., refine our stage presence and watch our fan base soar to new levels.
The end of our tour brought a focus-shift to develop our sound further through the production of our our upcoming album "Consexual Sense". With a release on the horizon, AMR is now gearing up for a few big shows come spring (’14) and a European tour with our brothers from across the pond.
We have been honored to play such amazing bands as Far From Finished (MA, Flix Records), Michale Graves (NJ, Hydraulic Entertainment), Stray Bullets (MA), Paranoid Social Club (ME, ON Entertainment), The Down and Outs (RI, Epitaph), The Atom Age (CA, Asian Man Records), Badfish, Not Since The Accident (UK, Renegade Sounds), and Burning Streets (MA, Sailor’s Grave Records), not to mention all the amazing local heroes from the New England scene such as Lenny Lashley (Darkbuster) and Geoff Palmer (The Queers and The Guts)
Fully DIY from the start, we have written, produced, and distributed our own work, promoted and booked our own shows with the help of some great friends and local talent, and strive to always put on the best show we can. We want to continue this trend, but feel that it’s time for us to begin looking at the bigger picture.
