Welcome to Cleaning Out The Inbox! Happy Halloween! While there aren’t a lot of tricks, there are plenty of treats from the bands below. Let’s dig in.
Monk – Without Words b/w Get Lost (Dine Alone Records)
There’s a holiday for everything, now. October 16th was Edge Day and Los Angeles based hardcore band Monk celebrated by releasing a couple of covers by Boston, MA’s very own Stop and Think. Lead singer Frank Bach explains:
“We did these Stop and Think covers because the songs rock and I’ve always felt like they never got the recognition they deserved. Their early 2000s Boston sound is straightforward hardcore, and I wanted to bring some of that energy to the West Coast. Releasing these on Edge Day felt like a good way to shine a light on a band we love. Get lost!”
Monk has some shows coming up:
November 6 – Los Angeles, CA @ The Slipper Clutch
November 13 – Santa Rosa, CA @ The Arlene Francis Center
November 14 – San Francisco, CA @ Kilowatt Bar
Cliffhanger – Brain Bleed (Self-Released)

Andy Frasco & the UN – Homesick (songs for a younger me)
When Andy Frasco isn’t hosting his World Saving Podcast, he’s busy making music with his band Andy Frasco and the UN. Their latest EP is a love letter to Andy’s younger years and the 2000s pop punk he grew up on. Homesick (songs for a younger me) is full of acoustic guitars, palm mutes, and feelings in the best way. Here’s the video for “Better Bad Ideas” from the Homesick EP:
