Hailing from the capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh’s Bike Notes is made up of members of The Murderburgers, Wrong Life and The Walking Targets. The band’s self-titled debut album is due out January 8th, 2025 on Limited Fun Records and Cat’s Claw Records in the UK, with Bloated Kat Records (USA) and Waterslide Records (Japan) handling distribution abroad.
Your friendly friends at DyingScene.com are simply chuffed the band bestowed us with the privilege of exclusively premiering the album’s very first single “Old Crutches”. Check it out below! And while you listen, here’s some in depth analysis of the song from Bike Notes’ spiritual leader / drummer Fraser Mudderbang:
“‘Old Crutches’ is the first song on the album and was co-written by (guitarist/singer) Max and Alex (bass) about their younger years spent making a quick and quite frankly disgusting buck selling well-used but much needed supplies out the back of the hospital they both worked at as porters. That’s not really what it’s about, but they said I could write this thing. I didn’t write the song, so I feel absolutely fine saying that it’s a choice nug.”
Bike Notes’ debut album was recorded by James Johnson at Edinburgh’s Tonegarden Studios, then sent over to the states to be mixed by Jacques Wait (Banner Pilot, Dear Landlord, Off With Their Heads, etc.) and mastered by Luke McNeill of The Copyrights. I implore you to promptly click this link and pre-order the album on compact disc (otherwise known as CD by those in the trade), or perhaps click this link and pre-order it on cassette.
