Canadian skate punk legends Belvedere are streaming unreleased demos of the five songs that appeared on their 2003 split with Downway entitled “Hometown Advantage.” Here’s what they had to say about the tracks:
“2003 was a great year – We had a hot new drummer from Edmonton, Jay had a killer jam space in Britannia, Steve was delivering pizza in South Calgary and I found out that I drank too much…
We recorded the Hometown Advantage tracks at Jays place before heading out to Washington DC to record with Brian Baker, Steve Hansgen and Don Zientara at Inner Ear studios.
Here are those recordings, 10 years later. Fun to listen to if you know and like the EP. Otherwise, avoid like the plague.”
You can stream all five of the demos below.
Belvedere returned from a seven-year hiatus last year. Since then, they have re-released a few of their full-lengths on vinyl through Jump Start Records and put out a 68-track compilation entitled “All Of It,” which can be streamed/purchased on Bandcamp.
