After many months of inactivity, UK skate punks First Step To Failure have announced they will be parting ways with their guitarist Andrew “Weasel” O’Hara, who has been “going through some personal problems” as of late. Here’s what they had to say about O’Hara’s departure and the future of the band:
“Hey everyone. So as you’ve probably noticed we’ve been pretty inactive since we put out our album last summer. Basically our guitarist and best friend Weasel has been going through some personal problems. We don’t want to go into to much detail about what’s up as we want to respect his privacy. Anyway last week Weasel decided to call it a day with us. We are all pretty gutted about it but got to respect his decision. Weasel is one of my closest friends and I can personally say I’ve loved every minute of playing with him over the years. Where does this leave us? Well, after talking it through with Norm and Craig we have decided to keep pushing on. I love this band and none of us are ready to call it a day just yet. We wish Weasel all the love in the world and really hope he can join us again sometime in the future. We will be back. Thank you for reading. One Love, First Step!”
We’ll keep you posted as more details on what the band has in store come to light. For now, I highly recommend giving their 2014 album When Best Friends Become Strangers a listen below.
