Bad news for Teen Idols fans. Guitarist Phil Hill was severely injured over the weekend while trying to protect a helpless stranger. Phil is a stand-up guy for doing what he did, and everyone here at Dying Scene commends him for act of selflessness. Unfortunately, the hero sustained several serious injuries and is now in need of our help. The Reaganomics posted a blog of what happened as well as where you can send help.
Phillip Hill, founder/guitarist for the pop punk band The Teen Idols, was leaving a bar in downtown Nashville late Friday night / early Saturday morning. As he walked to his car he saw a young girl being accosted by 4 men. He came to her aid and the men turned on him and left him severely injured. They tackled him and broke 4 of his ribs and partially collapsed one of his lungs. If that wasn’t enough, they bashed his face with his own side view mirror leaving shattered glass in his face. Luckily the girl was able to escape unharmed but the men fled before authorities arrived.
What my friend Phillip did took courage and honor but it left him in terrible shape and has some serious medical bills to pay. Like most of us musicians, he doesn’t have health insurance. Phil would never ask for help himself. He is one of the most modest guys you’ll ever meet. I urge you to please donate whatever you can to help. Mass Giorgini has set up a paypal account for donations:

Thanks a lot!
Please take the time out of your day and show support for this brave man.
