Infectious Grooves, a side project by Suicidal Tendencies‘ Mike Muir, have announced that the original lineup is getting back together for at least one performance at this year’s “Orion Music + More” festival, hosted by the heavy metal legends Metallica. The festival will take place June 8-9 at Belle Isle in Detroit, Michigan.
The original lineup of Infectious Grooves, which lasted from 1989 to 1992, consisted of Muir on vocals, Dean Pleasants (Suicidal Tendencies) on guitar, Adam Siegel (Excel) on guitar, Robert Trujillo (who was also a member of Suicidal and is now in Metallica) on bass and Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction) on drums. This was the lineup that recorded the band’s 1991 classic debut album The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move…It’s the Infectious Grooves. Former Faith No More guitarist Jim Martin will be filling in for Siegel at the reunion show.
