Interviews: The Ape-Ettes talk their new EP, 'Simply'

In July, Sudbury-based garage rock trio The Ape-Ettes blessed the world with their first new music together in almost 6 years with the release of their EP Simply. The EP sees the band exploring motherhood, talking about breakups, and discussing the importance of wearing hearing protection over the course of 4 songs that are chock full of melody, humour, and spirit. From the grungey, garagey opener "Trampoline" to the sweet punk rock of "Ré​mi" to the introspective psych-rock of "Inner Child", The Ape-Ettes are bound to get you moving. Simply is available now via Reta Records and Snappy Little Numbers.Through the power of the internet, Punknews editor Em Moore caught up with the band to talk about their new EP, writing in both French and English, maintaining "cool mom" vibes, and so much more. Frida Kill announce new album, release "Last Ditch Effort" video

Brooklyn-based punk band Frida Kill have announced that they will be releasing a new album. It is called Kill! Kill! and will be out on December 1 via Insecurity Hits and Get Better Records. A video for their new song “Last Ditch Effort” has also been released. Frida Kill released EP 1 in 2022. Check out the video and tracklist below.

12 more women come forward to accuse Justin Sane of sexual assault

Justin Sane of Anti-Flag was recently accused of sexual assault by a number of young women. Following that, Anti-Flag essentially stopped all operations. In an in-depth report by Rolling Stone, writer Cheyenne Roundtree did more investigation and found that at least 12 more women that allege that Jusitn Sane assaulted them. Rolling Stones announce new LP, Charlie Watts on two tracks

The rolling Stones have announced their new album Hackney Diamonds. It's their first studio lp since Blue & Lonesome from 2016, and their first LP of original compositions since 2005's A Bigger Bang. The album was produced by Andrew Watt and features two tracks recorded with Charlie Watts. Guest stars include Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, and former stone Bill Wyman. It's out October 20 and you can hear the lead single, "Angry," below.

Tours: JER and Vial announce US tour

JER and Vial have announced tour dates together for this winter. Boy Jr. and Penny Bored will be joining them on select dates. Tickets go on sale Friday, September 8. JER released their album Bothered / Unbothered in 2022 and Vial released their album Loudmouth in 2021. Check out the dates below.
