<p>Hey, did you know that they’re still making Expendables movies? Listen to Mortal Prophets cover "Born Under a Bad Sign!"

Today, we are pleased to debut the new video by Mortal Prophets! Helmed by John Beckmann, Mortal Prophets push post-punk into no wave terrirory, creating haunting, dark, and heavy music. Recently, Beckmann has been looking forward and backwards at the same time and has deconstructed some blues classics. Previously, he broke apart "Baby, please don't go." This time, he took the goth-before-goth blues slammer "Born under a bad sign" and took it apart piece by piece. The classic dismal lyrics are now welded to shimmering and beeping effects, which make it sound like Beckmann is swimming in a starless space while lamenting his lot. It's heavy, man. Speaking to Punknews, Beckmann said, "Of course, 'Born Under a Bad Sign' is a well-known blues song originally written and recorded by Albert King in 1967. The lyrics to "Born Under a Bad Sign" were written by Stax Records rhythm and blues singer William Bell with music by Stax bandleader, none other than Booker T. Jones (of Booker T. & the M.G.'s). What really caught my attention are the lyrics, and how they express these profound feelings of dread, misfortune, and of course bad luck. I think the oddly elegiac music and vocals give it a strange new twist." Mortal Propjhets new album Dealey Plaza Blues is out July 28, and you can check out the video for "Born Under a Bad Sign," below, right now!

Triumph of Death mixing live album

Triumph of Death is the Hellhammer "tribute" band fronted by Tom G Warrior, currently of Triptykon, and formerly of Celtic Frost and Hellhammer. Yesterday, Tom stated that Triumph of Death is mixing a live show, which of course, was comprised of Hellhammer tracks. He stated: "We have recorded a number of our concerts across the globe during the past few months, and we subsequently made a selection of the recordings we believe best represent the uncivilized approach and sound of Hellhammer as well as Triumph Of Death’s very own orphic attitude. The mixing sessions will take place at Woodshed Studio near Landshut, Germany, the studio created and operated by Triptykon's V. Santura. A release of the album is planned for late 2023." we will let you know when more info becomes available.

Exclusive Videos: Watch the new video by The Traders!

Today we are thrilled to bring you the premiere of the new video by French punks The Traders! The video is for the new song “Insults” and was created by Peno. Speaking to Punknews about the song the band said, ”It is the first song we wrote with Clement when he joined the band and it was written during a 3-hour practice. We were so stoked with the guitar ideas he had during the practice. He was using a shitty guitar that he bought at Easy Cash a few minutes before because we forgot to bring his guitar with us for practice. We then brought it back to Easy Cash. Free rent trick!” The song will be out everywhere digitally on June 9 and you can pre-save it right here. “Insults” will also be on their upcoming album How Much Art Can You Take? which will be released on September 14 via Hell Vice I Vicious, La Agonia De Vivir, Fond of Life, Decadents Records, White Russian Records, Granny Records, Disque Ardent, Nasty Cut Records, and Bad Mood Asso.
