It’s the summer of Metric. The Toronto indie survivalists recently hit Boston as part of the Garbage and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds co-headlining tour, and we’ve had technicolor new single “Just The Once” playing on a loop in our personal “regret disco” over the past few weeks. Now Emily Haines and the boys are handing the goods over to the fans, who’ve all chipped in with visuals for Metric’s official fan video for “Just The Once,” the lead track […]

In the event that you’re in the planning stages of your summer’s last hurrah over Labor Day weekend, something fresh and fun is going down in New Bedford, and it’s shaping up to be a whale of a good time. As announced earlier this week, a boatload of top-tier comedy is coming to the south coast of Massachusetts over the holiday weekend with the maiden voyage of the Whale City Comedy Festival, running for four days from August 31 to […]

It’s been a hot minute since we had a dope band with “bear” in its name, but Ottawa’s Bearings are here to fill the void in a blissfully noisy way. The pop-punk band unleashed a razor-sharp new belter today (August 1) called “Slip,” and it’s the latest to be featuring on forthcoming album, The Best Part About Being Human, due August 18 via Pure Noise Recordings. “’Slip’ was something that came together on its own,” says Bearings. “The chorus sort […]

Editor’s Note: It’s officially August, and that means we’re getting close, but not nearly close enough to finishing our fight against the dragging dog days of this bogus, humid summer. With all of the stress and frustration that continues to pile up with every rainstorm and inability to some sun, it seems only right to assume that the best remedy for that would be, at the very least, to laugh. Lucky for you, we’ve got you covered. With homegrown talent, […]

I’ll go ahead and confirm it for you: Jeff Rowe’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem not-so-shamelessly rips off the Spider-Verse movies in about every way you can imagine. It’s a hyper-stylized depiction of a property that has seen all sorts of adaptations to the screens, both silver and static-coated. Hell, this isn’t even the first time an animated Turtles movie has made its way to the big screen, with 2007’s TMNT providing the perfect cover for teenagers looking to […]

Today, we are pleased to debut the new video by Empired! Hailing from So-Cal, Empired is a new-ish band that includes members of Outspoken, Hail ACAB, Last Light, and Dime Runner. looking back to the earliest wave of punk when the genre could be equal parts grimey and poppy, the band likes big riffs, but also the super clean, poppy sound of bands like the Police and Talking Heads. The vifeo for "Arco," which was shot by Josh Roush, finds the band chilling at a dive bar all the while they watch the habits of the local wildlife. Meanwhile, the band sings about burning stuff down, which is cool. You can see the video below, right now.
