Interviews: Anthony Webster of Gel talks the band's upcoming debut LP, 'Only Constant'

New Jersey-based hardcore punks Gel are just over a week away from releasing their excellent debut full-length album Only Constant. On the album, Gel adds even more depth to their wonderfully frenzied hardcore as they continue to build on their sound, ripping through nine furious songs (and one chill one) in just under 15 minutes. Only Constant will be out March 31 via Convulse Records and Gel will be playing two album release shows in New York in April. Through the magic of the internet, Punknews editor Em Moore caught up with guitarist Anthony Webster to talk about the new album, their first European tour, and more. Read the interview below!

Festivals & Events: Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, Gaslight Anthem, Alkaline Trio, more to play Four Chord Music Fest

Four Chord Music Festival has announced their lineup for this year. Yellowcard (performing Ocean Avenue in full), Taking Back Sunday, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Waterparks, The Maine, Origami Angel, The Home Team, Magnolia Park, Mest, Eternal Boy, Patent Pending, Keep Flying, Old Neon, The Gaslight Anthem, The Interrupters, Alkaline Trio, Streetlight Manifesto, Face to Face, American Football, Dave Hause and The Mermaid, Punchline, Sincere Engineer, Spaced, and Look Out Loretta will be playing the festival. Four Chord Music Festival will take place August 12-13 at Wild Things Park in Pittsburgh/Washington, Pennsylvania.

Crazy And The Brains release video for “Open Eyes”

Crazy and the Brains have released a new video. It's for the digital single "Open Eyes." The band is on tour right now with Koffin Kats. The video was directed by Shibby Pictures and you can see it below.

Devo to release first authorized doucmentary

Devo are planning to release their first authorized documentary that covers the band's full history. The film will be composed of new interviews and archival footage. It's called Devo and will be directed by Chris Smith (American Movie, Fyre, Tiger King). BMG, Fremantle Documentaries, and Warner Music Entertainment are the executive producers. Smith issued a statement, “Devo was a huge influence on me. Their approach to music, film, video, and art was something I had never seen before and was one of the truly formative artistic influences that showed me there were entirely new ways to look at things.”

Tours: The Eradicator (South East)

Squash punk band The Eradicator will be playing a few shows this April in Georgia, South Carolina and Florida, see below. The Eradicator last released Forever The Eradicator in 2022.

The Bollweevils announce new album 'Essential'

Chicago punk rock veterans the Bollweevils have announced that their new full length LP "Essential" will be released May 5th on Red Scare. This marks the band's first proper full length album since "Heavyweight" which was released in 1995.The band will be performing next supporting Rise Against on March 30 at Metro in Chicago. You can see the lead video and tracklist below.

Tours: Subhumans announce US tour with Cop/Out and Upchuck

Subhumans have announced a US tour this May and June with supports from Cop/Out and Upchuck on select dates. The tour comes after announcments of their first 6 LP reissues and box set. See below to check out the dates.
