Elita enchants the senses with ‘She Bangs Like A Fairy on Acid’

The best kind of enchantment is the one that comforts and confronts with a combined sense of lullaby warmth and delicate dread, lulling us forward to places we’ve only dared dream of experiencing. That’s the sense we feel as we get lost in Elita’s new single “She Bangs Like A Fairy on Acid,” a sensual goth-leaning bedroom-pop track that might be the greatest Christmas present to emerge from the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. “I made this song at […]

DS Show Photo Gallery: Goldfinger (w/ surprise guest Tony Hawk!!) with Zebrahead and The Planet Smashers (House of Blues Anaheim, CA 1/15/23)

Per usual, Goldfinger put on a fun, lively show at House of Blues Anaheim on January 15. Although, no one in the crowd was expecting the Birdman himself, Tony Hawk, to join them on stage during the encore to sing their song Superman, arguably the most beloved song from the Tony Hawk Pro Skater video game series.

So here I am, doing everything I can…

Goldfinger always puts on a nonstop party of a show, but what completed the night was the collaboration of the century with Tony Hawk taking the mic to sing Superman.

Zebrahead and the Planet Smashers opened the show. Zebrahead was revving up the crowd with wireless instruments galore. This band loves to sprint around the stage and keeps the energy high. Sadly we missed the Planet Smashers opening set. Stupid Orange County traffic. Next time, eh?

Check out a bunch more photos in the galleries down below! Including Tony Hawk! Did we mention Tony Hawk?!?

Josh Jones & Trevor Kidd find ‘Salvation’ in Alexander Sharp’s grindhouse

Gritty music calls for gritty visuals, and director Alexander Sharp has answered the sonic call sent out by Josh Jones & Trevor Kidd. The Vancouver director has crafted a visually-striking grindhouse-inspired clip for the duo’s new dirty slow-crawl single “Salvation,” and the pairing feels like perfect match. “The video for ‘Salvation’ was designed to equally entertain and aggressively anesthetize: An outrageous, grindhouse, rock n’ roll music video that would keep reinventing itself,” says Sharp. “I designed it so that it […]
